No. 12 Glenville State topples Concord to extend winning streak to 19 games

GLENVILLE, W.V. – Ginny Mills scored a game-high 33 points as No. 12 Glenville State extend its winning streak to 19 games by defeating Concord 95-74 on Thursday night.

The Lady Pioneers (25-2 and 20-1 in the WVIAC) cruised to the win as they led the entire contest. They outscored the Mountain Lions in the paint 34-22. They outscored them on second-chance points 23-15. Glenville State also won the rebounding battle 67-50.

Mills scored 28 points in the first half as the Lady Pioneers built a 52-34 halftime lead. Kenyona Simmons posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds for Glenville State.

Ashleigh Fossett chipped in with 17 points while LaToya Hambrick had 10 points and eight rebounds for the Lady Pioneers. Aesha Peters grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds while Jessica Parsons dished out a team-high seven assists.

Concord (7-20, 6-15 WVIC) was led by Rachel Artrip, who had 24 points and 11 rebounds. Amanda Smith scored 12 points and Stephanie Wagner added 10 points and dished out 10 assists.
