BALTIMORE — Nebraska won its third event of the year on the weekend at the Morgan State Invitational. The Huskers compiled an 11-1 record during the course of the tournament, followed by Maryland Eastern Shore and Vanderbilt.
Three Huskers were also named to the 10-person all-tournament team with Jasmine Laugerman leading the way. Laugerman compiled a tournament-high 229 average. Kristi Mickelson (197) and Danielle van der Meer (196) took eighth and 10th place to make the all-tournament team, respectively.
“We’ve always had success in Baltimore,” Nebraska Head Coach Bill Straub said. “They treat us very nicely and are always glad to come back. Our team is looking good and playing really well.”
Nebraska ended the weekend with an 11-1 record, followed by Maryland Eastern Shore, which finished 10-2 in the 19-team field. Vanderbilt placed third by winning nine of its 12 matches while Sacred Heart finished fourth with a 7-5 mark.
