The Red Wolves finished first the two days of the tournament with a 9,387 total pinfall count, while Nebraska leads the tournament with a total of 9,456. Central Missouri (9,354) is in third place, followed by Wisconsin-Whitewater (8,898) and Valparaiso (8,825).
“All in all it was a pretty good day of us,” ASU bowling coach Justin Kostick said. “We need to sure up our spare shooting a little bit. We bowled all right-handers again today, because the left side wasn’t playing very well. We feel like we are in good position heading into the final day.”
ASU started the day with a loss to Wisconsin-Whitewater, before picking up victories over Bethune-Cookman and Stephen F. Austin. A-State lost to Valparaiso in the day’s fourth match, before ending the day with a victory over Monmouth. The Red Wolves are now 8-2 in the tournament.
