ARLINGTON, Texas — Arkansas State went 5-0 on the first day of action at the Prairie View A&M Invitational at the International Research and Training Center on Friday afternoon.
The Red Wolves also captured the lead in the total pinfall count with a 4,317 total. Central Missouri is in second place with a total of 4,187, followed by Valparaiso (4,110), Stephen F. Austin (4,100) and Vanderbilt (4,018).
“It was a really good day for us,” ASU bowling coach Justin Kostick said. “We need to continue this play throughout the weekend and finish strong in the last two days of the tournament.”
ASU opened with an 823-783 victory against Louisiana Tech, followed by an 854-816 win versus Valparaiso. The Red Wolves continued the perfect day with a 770-742 victory versus host Prairie View A&M followed by a 902-835 win against Maryland Eastern Shore. The Red Wolves finished the day with a 968-733 victory against Vanderbilt.
