Abilene Christian, Adams State Take Team TitlesNovember 17, 2007

Nicodemus Naimadu came in almost half a minute faster than the next closest finisher, while two of his Abilene Christian teammates joined him in the top six, as Abilene took the Division II cross country national title at Missouri Southern State.

Nicodemus' time of 29:39.7, a 4:47 mile pace, brought him across the finish line alone, 26 seconds before the next pair -- Aaron Braun of Adams State and Julius Nyango of Abilene -- came in for second and third place, respectively. Serge Gasore, a junior at Abilene, took sixth place to propel the Wildcats to the title.

But Adams State, which took third in the men's race, virtually lapped the field on the women's side. Led by five runners in the top 24, the Grizzlies used Tanya Gaurmer's third-place finish and Brittany Somers' seventh to finish with 63 points.

The next closest team, Seattle Pacific, whose Jessica Pixler won the individual championship with a time of 20:29, had 178.
