EAST LANSING, Mich. — No. 3 Grand Valley State certainly held their own at the Spartan Invite on Friday afternoon on the campus of Michigan State. Seniors Anthony Witt and Tyler Emmorey paced the Lakers by finishing third and fourth in the event that was mostly made up of Division I schools.
Witt came across third with a time of 24:30 at a pace of 4:56 while Emmorey was just steps behind, finishing in 24:34 on a pace of 4:57.
The Lakers also got very strong showings from juniors Stephen Fuelling and Jake Isaacson as both set personal bests in the 8k event. Fuelling finished ninth in a time of 24:50 while Isaacson was 14th with a time of 24:57.
Sophomore Larry Julson was the fifth Laker to finish as he placed 23rd with a time of 25:12. Sophomore Josh Moskalewski was the final GVSU runner to finish in the top 30, placing 28th with a time of 25:18.
