Key Notes: Perez, coming off a 2010 All-American campaign, is off to a good start for the top-ranked Cardinals. The junior captured the individual title at the Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational last weekend to lead North Central (Ill.) to the team title as well. Perez topped a strong field, 32 different teams spread across all divisions, en route to his victory with a time of 24:32 on the 8,000-meter course.

• Division I: No. 24 Minnesota plays host to the 26th running of the Roy Griak Invitational this weekend. Arizona's Stephen Sambu won the individual event last year and is back to defend his title.

• Division II: Massachusetts-Lowell's Jeff Veiga, who finished third at the NCAA Championship meet last fall, is set to take the course at the Codfish Bowl Invitational in Boston, Mass. this weekend.

• Division III: No. 1 North Central (Ill.) and No. 4 Washington-St. Louis are set for a showdown at the Wheaton College Invitational this weekend in Warrenville, Ill.
