ANGOLA, Ind. -- No. 5 Calvin put on an impressive show in a victory at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Trine at the Zollner Golf Course.

The Knights nearly pulled off a perfect score, taking the top four spots and five of the top six to finish with 16 points, well ahead of Albion which posted a team score of 61 points.

The MIAA Jamboree is worth one-third of the final MIAA crown with the MIAA Championships, slated for October 29 making up the remaining two-thirds.

On the men’s side, junior Matt VanderRoest had a monster day, winning the 8K race in a time of 26:01 while junior Dan Kerr was second (26:09), junior David VandeBunte third (26:34), junior Job Christiansen fourth (26:44), junior Greg Whittle sixth (26:55), senior Rhett Morici seventh (26:58) and junior Kevin Peterson 14th (27:33).

No. 1 North Central and No. 3 Washington-St. Louis at Wheaton College Invitational
Warrenville, Ill. -- No. 3 Washington-St. Louis swept the team and individual honors at the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational, at St. James Farm in Warrenville, Ill.   The Bears finished first in a field of eight teams by posting a score of 14 points.

Senior Michael Burnstein won the men’s 8K race, finishing ahead of 124 other competitors with a mark of 25:23.30. He was one of six Washington University runners to finish in the top 10 of the individual standings.

Senior Tucker Hartley was the runner-up, posting a time of 25:27.62. Freshman Drew Padgett came in sixth with a mark of 25:54.40, and he was followed by another freshman, Ryan Senci, who came in seventh in 25:58.58.               

No. 1 North Central sent its junior varisty and freshman teams to the meet and freshman Ben Dickshinski led the Redhawks finishing 13th with a time of 26:13.74.  Senior Michael Matuszak finished 18th in 26:23.27.
