LISLE, Ill. — North Central (Ill.) sent a partial squad to the Benedictine Invitational on Friday afternoon, and placed third at the 11-team event.
North Central, ranked No. 1 in the USTFCCA rankings, tallied 93 points in the team standings for a third-place finish. Saint Francis took the title with a score of 29 while Lewis finished in second with 33 points.
Spiros Angelakos and Kelvin Guilbault paced the Cardinals, finishing back-to-back in 15th and 16th places. Angelakos traversed the 8,000-meter course at Lisle Community Park in 27 minutes, 23 seconds while Guilbault was three seconds back. Mackenzie Boyd was 22nd in 27:50 while Ryan Thompsen (27th place, 28:02) and Jacob Paulus (32nd place, 28:09) rounded out the scoring five.
