No. 2 Western St. tops No. 1 Adams St.

Pennel takes individual crown, leads Mountaineers to title

DENVER, Colo. — Tyler Pennel took home the individual crown with a time of 24:59 as he led second-ranked Western State to the RMAC Championship on Saturday morning at the Willis Case Golf Course.

The Mountaineers also received scoring performances from Ryan Haebe (fourth place, 25:21), Gabe Proctor (fifth place, 25:26), David Goodman (eighth place, 25:50) and Trevor Blackman (tenth place, 25:51) en route to the victory.

Western State posted a team score of 28 points to knock off No. 1 Adams State, who finished in second place with 31 points, and No. 4 Colorado Mines, who checked in third with a team score of 89 points. New Mexico Highlands, with 138 points, and Metro State, who finished with 141 points, rounded out the top five team finishers.
