Cal Baptist takes Pacific West title
Moore helps power Lancers to first conference championship
GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- California Baptist picked up its first Pacific West Conference title on Saturday afternoon as the Lancers were victorious against a field of ten league foes.
Three runners, Mark Langworthy, Victor Delgado and Chris Cline, all set personal records on the day.
CBU placed four runners in the top 10 and had a team time of 2:05:53, the second fastest time in school history. Academy of Art finished second with a team time of 2:08:45 and BYU-Hawaii finished third with a team time of 2:09:41.
Mitchell Moore led the way for the Lancers for the fourth time this year, posting a time of 24:54.1 and finishing fifth overall. Langworthy ran his fastest time this season with a 25:05.5, which was good enough for a seventh place finish. Delgado also recorded his personal best time, 25:10, to finish eighth. Sergio Rodriguez finished 10th in 25:21.2 while Trevor Henson completed the scoring for the Lancers, finishing 11th with a mark of 25:22.3.
