ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis jumped to No. 15 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National rankings. In the Sept. 26 poll, the Flyers entered the national rankings at No. 34 for the first time since 2006.

“The reason we go to the bigger meets is to run head-to-head with the top teams in the region, and the nation,” Lewis head coach Dana Schwarting said. “This helps us to set our expectations later in the year, when we get into the GLVC meet, and the NCAA Regional meet."
“We now know that we should be a top-20 team in the nation, and a top-5 team in the region.”
The Flyers are coming off a 17th-place finish at the 31-team 8K Greater Louisville Men's Cross Country Classic as junior Andrew McLain turned in a career-best time of 24:30.35.
