Coach Tracy Hellman’s women’s squad has held the top spot since the beginning of the season. The men slipped to No. 6 a week ago, but advanced a notch to No. 5 after a dominant performance last weekend in Waverly, Iowa.
Augustana is the only Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference member listed among the top 15 in both polls. On the men’s side, Minnesota State comes in at No. 16. For the women, U-Mary is 16th, Winona State 17th, Minnesota State 20th, and Minnesota-Duluth 28th.
The Viking men swept the top seven spots on the way to winning the Dan Huston Invitational last weekend. The women’s team title also went to Augustana with the Vikings taking four of the top six places.
Augustana will defend both its men’s and women’s NSIC championships at the conference showdown Oct. 20 in St. Paul.
