NEW ORLEANS – Haverford, fresh off a strong outing against Division I teams at the Princeton Invitational, has taken over the top spot in the latest Division III national rankings of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Fords’ women also continue to garner national recognition improving two spots to No. 14 in the Oct. 17 polls.

Haverford received five of eight first-place votes in dethroning defending national champion North Central (Ill.). The Cardinals had taken root at No. 1 in the previous 24 polls by the USTFCCCA.
North Central slid to No. 3 while Calvin (Mich.) picked up the other first-place votes to improve one spot to the No. 2 ranking. Among other Centennial Conference teams, Dickinson moved up five slots to No. 21 while Johns Hopkins slid three to No. 27.
