WARRENVILLE, Ill. – One of the longest-running records was extended Saturday at St. James Farm, as North Central (Ill.) claimed the conference title at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships for the 39th consecutive year.

Coach Al Carius’ third-ranked Cardinals claimed seven of the top-12 finishes and posted a winning score of 19 points, well ahead of 25th-ranked Wheaton (Ill.) (55) and 16th-ranked Augustana (62). North Central has won every CCIW Championship meet since 1974.

The Cardinals swept the top three individual positions. Daniel Kerley claimed the individual title by covering the 8,000-meter (five-mile) course in 24:33 and John Crain and Yonatan Mascote followed in second (24:35) and third (24:36), respectively.

Roger Klein placed sixth (24:49) and Troy Kelleher finished seventh (24:53) to close out the Cardinals’ scoring. David Weber also cracked the top 10, placing ninth (24:58).
