WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- No. 1 Middlebury had three top-10 finishers in a victory at the Purple Valley Classic.  The Panthers scored 45 while host school No. 5 Williams came in second with 56.

The best finish for Middlebury came from Adelaide Tousley who came in second with a time of  22:26.  Also, in the top-10 for Middlebury were Margo Crammer (3rd, 22:30) and Emily Attwood (7th,  22:41 ).

The Ephs had a respectable showing with two runners in the top-10.  Freshman Alison Smith finished in eighth place with a time of  22:42.  In ninth place was Chiaria Del Piccolo who clocked in at 22:48.

No. 2 Washington-St. Louis at Wheaton College Invitational 
Warrenville, Ill. – Washington University in St. Louis swept the team and individual honors at the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational, held Saturday morning at St. James Farm in Warrenville,Ill.

The Washington University women’s team placed first out of five teams, with senior Liz Phillips capturing first-place overall with a score of 12 points. The WUSTL men’s squad finished first in a field of eight teams by posting a score of 14 points.

 

Senior Michael Burnstein placed first overall and the Bears finished ahead of No. 24 Wheaton College and a split squad from No. 1 North Central College, who ran a separate freshman group from the rest of its team.

No. 5 Wisconsin-Eau Claire at Roy Griak Invitational
MINNEAPOLIS -- No. 5 Wisconsin-Eau Claire raced its way to a first-place team finish, beating out 31 other teams at the 26th Annual Roy Griak Invitational hosted by Minnesota.

Competing in the Maroon Division III class at Les Bolstad Golf Course, the Blugolds took first place overall with a team score of 82. Emory and Lewis & Clark took second and third with 110 and 114 points, respectively.

The top five Blugold competitors all finished in the top 25 of the individual standings. Ashlyn Mauer led the way for Eau Claire, finishing the course in 23:05.4 for 10th in the individual standings. Steph Sjostrom and Madi Sawyer also cracked the top-15. Sjostrom placed 11th with a time of 23:06.3 while Sawyer completed the race in 23:08.7, good enough for 13th.
