STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Running in treacherous conditions and without two of its top runners, No. 4 Grand Valley State finished fifth at the Penn State Invitational, best among non-Division I schools.

Freshman Rachel Clark led the way for the Lakers, finishing 16th in the individual standings with a time of 21:55. Just behind her in 21st was twin sister Callie Clark with a time of 22:08.
Senior Rebecca Winchester came in 40th with a time of 22:39 while senior Jessie Vickers was 43rd (22:46) and freshman Allyson Winchester finished 51st (22:56).
Rounding out the Lakers was freshman Hannah Osborn in 57th (23:01) and senior Karie McDonald in 63rd (23:08).
Grand Valley State finished with a 171 points, three spots ahead of No. 3 Ferris State (eighth, 308).
Bulldog Sophomore Samantha Johnson finished ninth with a time of 21:40 while junior Anna Rudd came in 37th (22:35) and junior Alyssa Osika placed 54th (22:57).
Freshman Kristie LeSage was 110th (23:45), junior Felicia Slate finished 140th (24:06), junior Jordan McGuire came in 155th (24:20) and sophomore Brittany Anderson was 162nd (24:25).
