LAKE WISSOTA, Wis. — Seventh-ranked Wisconsin-Eau Claire took first place out of four teams at its own Lake Wissota Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Wisconsin-Eau Claire finished with 25 points as six Blugolds finished in the top eight. Viterbo came in second tallying 43 points while UW-La Crosse finished third with 67 points and UW-River Falls took fourth posting 120 points.
Leading the Blugolds was Alana Jenkins, who took third place with a time of 18:51 on the 5,000-meter course.
Teresa Coughlin came in next, in fourth with a time of 19:03 while Jami Riley crossed the finish line five seconds later in fifth place.
Right on the heels of Riley was Shaina Weatherhead, checking in at sixth place with a time of 19:09.
Shelby Owens and Erica Tiffany nearly crossed the finish line together, with Owens taking seventh place by posting a time of 19:21 and Tiffany taking eighth overall with a mark of 19:21.10.
