ST. LEO, Fla. – No. 12 Tampa competed at the Saint Leo Invitational, with the Spartan women in second.
Florida was the only team to finish ahead of the Spartans in the women’s race, as UT placed ahead of four fellow SSC schools.
Freshman Laura Yarrow was the first Tampa runner to cross the finish line, placing fourth with a 5K showing of 22:27.71.
Also running for UT was Kaia Hampton (7th, 22:49.19), Danielle Kissel (8th, 23:21.54), Kelly Hagan (9th, 23:25.68), Courtney Ragan (11th, 23:43.58), Kaitlyn Martin (12th, 23:44.79), Christa McLeod (14th, 24:06.13), Iolani Scanlan (15th, 24:09.64), Vanessa Righeimer (18th, 24:36.63), Liz Anthony (19th, 24:38.21), Rose Bishop (20th, 24:41.92), Sarah Waller (22nd, 25:00.24), Emily Scott (24th, 25:08.67), Amber Duncan (27th, 25:24.16), Rose Bastian (30th, 25:46.13), Annais Pena (34th, 26:37.91).
The UT men finished behind Florida and Florida Tech, with Tory Webb finishing eighth to lead all Spartans. Webb finished the 8K in 27:14.60.
Other Spartans who ran were Geremy DeWitt (10th, 27:32.80), Lewis Price (11th, 27:42.20), Mike Zwijacz (12th, 27:47.10), Peter Licari (18th, 28:21.60), Jake Bailey (19th, 28:23.00) and Mike Leone (27th, 28:57.10).
