BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins Department of Athletics is mourning the loss of Rebecca Grande, a member of the Blue Jay women’s track and cross country teams, who passed away on Sunday, Sept. 30. Grande was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and a native of Lansdowne, Pa.
Grande, who was enrolled in the Whiting School of Engineering, competed for the Blue Jay cross country team as a freshman last fall and had returned to school in the spring before taking a leave of absence in February after being diagnosed with non-hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Funeral services will take place on Friday in Philadelphia. An on-campus memorial service is being planned for the week of Oct. 8.
