The Warriors earned their first national ranking thanks to an extremely strong showing at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational last weekend in Minneapolis. WSU placed second in a meet that featured 38 teams and finished ahead of seven squads from the national rankings.
Jessica Young paced the Warriors with a sixth-place finish individually, posting the ninth-fastest time in school history. Kayla Gudmundson and Jordan Skelly also had top-20 finishes in the meet for WSU.
Winona State is third in the USTFCCCA Central Region rankings, trailing only conference foes Augustana and Mary.
