INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The NCAA and corporate partner Capital One have joined forces to create a new award in Division I athletics - the Capital One Cup.

A news conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday in New York City.

Similar to the Director's Cup, the top all-around programs in men's and women's sports will each receive $200,000 in graduate scholarship money. Previously, the men's and women's sports were combined with one overall winner.

Points will be awarded in 13 men's sports and 13 women's sports. Twenty points will be awarded to each national champion with descending points awarded to each of the next nine finishers.
