LOWELL, Mass. -- Sophomore F Kelly Trevisan (Lancaster, PA) scored the game-winning goal seven minutes, 51 seconds into overtime to lead Bloomsburg University over Bentley College, 3-2, Sunday for the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship at UMass Lowells Cushing Field.

The title was the 12th in school history and third consecutive for the Huskies, who improved to 21-3. Bentley ended a stellar season at 22-3. Trevisan tipped a blast from the top of the circle from sophomore M Kristy Kropa (Tunkhannock, PA) which eluded Bentley goalkeeper Kristen Johnson (Reading, MA).

The goal came shortly after Johnson halted a penalty stroke by freshman M Brittney Fox (Reading, MA) 1:52 into overtime. Fox aimed her shot for the top left shelf of the goal, but Johnson deflected it wide with her right arm.

The Huskies grabbed a 2-0 lead in the opening 17 minutes. Fox opened the scoring in the 11th minute off a feed from senior M Sharla Partlon (Langhorne, PA) out of a scramble in front of the Falcon goal. Partlon gave Bloomsburg a 2-0 cushion in the 17th minute when she possessed a penalty corner, eluded a defender at the top of the circle and uncorked a shot through a crowded goal box.

Senior M Jenn Walker (Lyman, ME) brought Bentley back into the match with a pair of goals, the first three minutes from the break on a backhanded shot from the left slot with help from sophomore F Mary Rogers (Watertown, MA).

Walker struck again in the 52nd minute when she raced into the Bloomsburg zone from the left side and tucked a shot past Husky goalkeeper Tracy Hudak (Sweet Valley, PA) inside the far right post. Bentley posted a 16-11 edge on total shots while Bloomsburg had a 10-8 advantage on target. Both goalkeepers played splendidly as Hudak stopped six shots and Johnson seven.
