GRANTHAM, Pa. " Karen Wendler (Burlington, NJ/Burlington) scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute, breaking a 2-all tie and completing a 3-2 come-from-behind, overtime victory for Ursinus in non-conference field hockey action at Messiah on Saturday, Sept. 10.

Trailing 2-0 with fewer than 12 minute to play, Ashley Ettinger (Schwenksville, PA/Boyerstown) scored once and added two assists to have a part in each of the Bears three tallies, recording her first points of the season.

Jenna Schwind scored both of the goals for the Falcons (3-1), who held a 33-15 advantage in shots on the day.

With 5 minutes, 10 seconds remaining in regulation, Jess Rogers (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove) knocked home an Ettinger pass for her first goal of the season, knotting the game at 2.

Ettinger then set up Wendler to give Ursinus (2-1) the victory, 4:29 into the first extra session.

Schwind opened scoring off an Aftan Fisher assist 6:58 into the contest. Schwind added her second goal of the day, this time taking a pass from Ashley Lobach a minute before the intermission.

Ettinger got the Bears on the board, scoring off an Allison Doutt (Willow Street, PA/Lampeter-Strasburg) assist at the 58:51 mark.

In addition to outshooting Ursinus, Messiah also held a 14-9 advantage in penalty corners.

Bears' goalkeeper Jessica Lamina (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) matched a career-high 13 saves on the day set against Messiah last season.

Renee Herbster made five stops for the Falcons.
