No. 3 Bloomsburg wins close contest
Roundup: Nelson’s hat trick gave No. 4 Stonehill victory
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- In a matchup of two of the top teams in Division II, No. 3 Bloomsburg beat No. 2 Shippensburg 1-0 on Tuesday in a game played in a steady rain.
With neither team being able to mount much of an offensive threat in the opening half due to the wet field, the Huskies were able to keep the ball in the Shippensburg side of the field for a large chunk of the second half.
Bloomsburg, which had eight second-half penalty corners, finally converted a scoring chance with just over four minutes to play. Jenna DiSabatino started the corner play for the Huskies with the ball going to Jaclyn Beasley, who made a quick pass to Amber Aulenbach. From there Aulenbach delivered a perfect pass to DiSabatino who had positioned herself to the left corner of the goal cage and banged home the pass for the gamewinner.
