NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- Merrimack claimed its third consecutive victory against a ranked opponent Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field with a 4-0 win against Stonehill. The Warriors improved to 3-1 on the year while the Skyhawks dipped to 2-3.

The Warriors struck early in the game, tallying a goal 2:15 into the first half. April Daugherty knocked in a rebound after Jessica Otis' shot was saved.

Daugherty netted her second marker of the game 2:54 later as she dispossessed a Skyhawk defender and broke in on goal alone. The junior slipped the ball past the rushing goalie and into the cage to elevate Merrimack's advantage to two goals.

No. 1 UMass-Lowell 4, No. 10 Bentley 1
LOWELL, Mass. -- Sophomores Melissa Effertz , Rachel McCarthy and Ali Ferraro each scored one goal and set up another as No. 1 UMass Lowell defeated No. 10 Bentley University 4-1 Saturday afternoon in a non-conference field hockey clash at the Cushing Field Complex.

The win was the third consecutive for UMass Lowell, which improved to 3-1 entering next Wednesday's home clash against Franklin Pierce. Bentley slipped to 1-4 overall and visits Stonehill next Saturday .

No. 9 Millersville 3, No. 2 Shippensburg 2
Millersville, Pa. -- Shippensburg took an early 1-0 lead, but Millersville scored three consecutive goals and held on for a 3-2 victory. It was the first time Millersville defeated Shippensburg since 1998.

The Raiders took the early lead when Katie Pufnock scored on the first shot of the game in the 6th minute. Pufnock was led by teammate Bre White to put Shippensburg up 1-0.

The Marauders (2-1) equaled the score in the 26th minute. Sophomore Brittany Troutman stopped a centering pass from Emily Litchford and cranked it through the crowd and into the back of the goal to knot the score at 1-1. The game went to the half tied.
