LYNCHBURG, Va. – Nine different Hornets scored Thursday night as Lynchburg defeated visiting Sweet Briar 12-0 in both teams’ last regular season conference game. It is the 16th consecutive win for Lynchburg.
Senior Deanna Smith and sophomore Kelli Williams each netted two first-half goals as LC took a 6-0 lead at intermission. Junior Colleen Dore netted two second-half goals to join Smith and Williams for game-highs.
Lindsay Leonard had a goal and an assist and Katie Kline had two assists. Shelly Milks, Kelsey Link, Grace Ann Edgerton, Ashley Nelson and Eliza Fritz each found the back of the cage while Amanda Wain and Megan Tillou had assists.
No. 5 TCNJ 7, Manhattanville 1
EWING, N.J. — The College of New Jersey closed out the home portion of the schedule with a 7-1 win against Manhattanville on Thursday.
That win pushed the team’s winning streak to seven games with one game left in the regular season. TCNJ is 17-2 on the year and has already matched its win total from a year ago. The team has also garnered 11 of those wins on home turf.
Prior to the game, the Lions honored the five seniors playing in their final home contest. That group included Leigh Mitchell, Kathleen Notos, Alex Okuniewicz, Jessica Persicketti and Shannon Syciarz.
