HAVERFORD, Pa. -- Haverford played to a 3-1 non-conference home victory against No. 16 Lebanon Valley on Thursday at Swan Field.

The win by the Fords (2-0) is their second against a ranked opponent in less than a week after their season-opening win against No. 18 Rowan last Friday.

Haverford broke out to an early 1-0 lead as Catherine Aronowitz converted a pass in the fourth minute of the game.

Extending the Fords' advantage to 2-0 with 15 minutes to go in the half, Bridget Gibbons tallied her second goal of the season off an assist from Brooke Kelly. Lebanon Valley (0-2) answered with a goal by Cate Cusack to get on the board.

Haverford out shot Lebanon Valley in the second half and won the corner battle (8-4). Christina Gould notched her first collegiate goal 13 minutes into the second half and from there the defense was able to hold off the Dutchmen's attacks.

Sydney Hyder registered six saves in goal for the Fords while Chloe Baro made five saves for the Dutchmen.
