MERRIMACK | FIELD HOCKEY
• How did it feel to set a school record for wins last season?
To be honest we were all shocked to find out that we had a school record of wins in a row. We were honored to be able to represent Merrimack Athletics with such a record and accomplishment.
• What will the team have to do this year to make it to the championship?
We will need to continue to take it one game at a time. We can not get ahead of ourselves and think championship right away. We must remember all of the little things, passion, hard work and dedication that went into building the season we had last year. Our returners have a sour taste in their mouths for how things were left in November. As a result we need to continue to get that much better as a family and take it one game at a time.
• Who are two of the most improved players from last season?
Senior Jamie Spano and junior Lindsay Grover have taken their training to a different level this offseason. The two definitely saw roles on our team that needed to be filled.
• How did you see the incoming freshman filling positions this season?
We are excited for our freshman to gain some experience this season. They are all extremely versatile which only helps the depth in numerous positions. The freshman have a great energy level and excitement to help our team do what it takes to work for a championship.
• What are the team’s strengths this season?
Our ladies' strength is their passion and love for the sport. These girls work hard both on and off the field, but they really just enjoy playing the sport together.
