Mercyhurst (Pa.) upset then-No. 3 California (Pa.), 31-21, and jumped into the AFCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll for the first time in school history at No. 24. The Lakers are 6-2 on the season and sit atop the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division. With Californias (Pa.) loss, the Top 5 teams changed with Abilene Christian (Texas) moving up to No. 3, followed by No. 4 Northwest Missouri State and No. 5 Texas A&M-Kingsville. Grand Valley State (Mich.) and Minnesota-Duluth still sit No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.

There are two Top 25 matchups this coming week as No. 2 Minnesota-Duluth and No. 20 St. Cloud State (Minn.) battle for the top spot in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division, while No. 19 Delta State (Miss.) and No. 21 North Alabama meet on Thursday night in a key Gulf South Conference game.
