Texas State Fires Wright After 4-7 Season

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) -Texas State has fired football coach Brad Wright after the Bobcats finished 4-7 and just 1-5 in the Southland Conference.

Athletic Director Larry Teis announced the move on Monday.

Texas State currently plays in the Southland Conference of the Football Championship Subdivision but recently accepted an invitation to join the Western Athletic Conference in 2012.

Wright was 23-23 in four seasons with his best mark at 8-5 in 2008.
