Kutztown improves to No. 11 in AFCA Coaches' Poll, top seven unchanged
WACO, Texas -- Kutztown moved up from No. 12 to No. 11 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches' Poll after a 58-6 win against Saint Anselm in its season opener.
The Golden Bears set a school record with 723 yards of total offense as Kevin Morton broke the school record for career touchdown passes. The senior threw for more than 400 yards and six touchdowns in the game and now has 91 career scoring throws.

Pittsburg State remained number one and garnered 28 of the 30 first place votes. The entire top seven went unchanged in fact, as Minnesota-Duluth, Northwest Missouri State, Midwestern State, Wayne State, Colorado State-Pueblo and Grand Valley State held steady, respectively. Wayne State and No. 8 Winston-Salem State each received one first place vote.
Last week's No. 8 Valdosta State, dropped to No. 20, allowing several teams, including Kutztown, to move up.
Two of Kutztown's rivals are ranked. This week's opponent, California (Pa.) is 10th and Bloomsburg checks in at No. 19. Shippensburg and Slippery Rock are among teams receiving votes.
