ST. PAUL, Minn. – Glenn Caruso of St. Thomas (Minn.) has been voted the Division III national coach of the year.

Caruso led the Tommies to an NCAA runner-up finish. He’s just the third Division III honoree in the 30-year history of the American Football Coaches’ Association honor to receive the most votes without winning the NCAA championship. The award is voted on by fellow Division III coaches.

Caruso is 57-8 in five seasons at St. Thomas in Minnesota, with four NCAA playoff berths and an 11-4 postseason record. He also won the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year award in Division III.

The Tommies lost 28-10 to Mount Union in December’s Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.
