On Sunday, Westminster College’s senior defensive lineman Jacob Ellis pulled a couple to safety after he witnessed a car crash that resulted in the couple’s vehicle bursting into flames.

“It was just instinct,” said Ellis to KRCG 13 Sports.

Ellis said he was on his way home from church when he witnessed the collision between the two vehicles. He put his own truck in park and jumped out to help an elderly couple escape their burning vehicle. Ellis said that no lives were lost in the accident.

While Ellis is currently recovering from an injured hand from an incident before the accident, he looks to make some big plays this year on the Blue Jay’s field.
