NO. 9 WEST VIRGINIA 70, NO. 25 BAYLOR 63 BOXSCORE
In all honesty, take your pick for offensive player of the week from the Baylor-West Virginia shootout on Saturday. West Virginia’s quarterback Geno Smith threw for 656 yards and eight touchdowns, but it was wide receiver Stedman Bailey who caught five of those scores in addition to his 303 yards receiving. Bailey had set the Big 12 record for receiving yards before Baylor WR Terrance Williams broke it just minutes later. Bailey and Tavon Austin — part of what has become an explosion of outstanding tandem receivers
– became the first FBS teammates with 200 yards receiving since 2007. Bailey’s five receiving touchdowns also broke the school record.
