Keifer Burke posted four sacks as the the Eagles, who trailed by double-digits twice in the game, drove 75 yards in 10 plays in just more than a minute to secure the victory. Highlands still had a chance to move into field-goal range on its final possession but safety Cole Montgomery intercepted a pass to thwart any additional late-game dramatics.

Down 13-0 at half, Angelo State rallied for the victory as Jarred Martin’s 27-yard field goal with 6:55 left in the game proved to be the winning margin. With ASU holding a one-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter, Texas A&M-Commerce took a 16-14 lead on a field goal with 12:45 left in the game. The Rams immediately responded for the game-winning score by driving 67 yards on 14 plays, culminated by Martin’s kick.
