NORTHERN ILLINOIS 31, TOLEDO 24 BOXSCORE
Who’s the most prolific rusher you’ve never heard of? Who’s the most exciting QB you’ve never heard of? The answer to both questions can be summed up in two words: Jordan Lynch. The Huskies’ signal-caller knows how to get the ball down field, as he racked up 162 yards on the ground and 407 yards with three touchdowns through the air last Wednesday. He pushed NIU to 10-1, including 7-0 in the MAC as the Huskies extended the longest home winning streak in Division I to 21 games. |

NO. 14 STANFORD 17, NO. 1 OREGON 14 BOXSCORE
Really, this one could go to nearly anyone on in Stanford’s front seven. The defensive line and linebackers were the difference against the Ducks. Sure, the offense had to come back late with it’s great tying drive — and incredible TD catch — but the defense did things no team has done to Oregon in at least two years. UO had averaged more than 35 points per game during that span but was held to two TDs — for four periods and on extra session. This might be the most well-deserved honor this year. |

NO. 8 LSU 41, MISSISSIPPI 35 BOXSCORE
Odell Beckham had a punt return to remember Saturday as he returned a kick 89 yards for a score as LSU held off Mississippi in a six-point thriller. Oh, did we mention it came in the final minutes after Ole Miss continued to rally time and again, countering every punch the Tigers could muster? This wasn’t the final points — it only tied the score — but it was the knockout that showed Ole Miss the Tigers weren’t going away, and it was one worth watching again and again. |
