MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer won the 2011 Old North State Invitational men’s golf championship on Tuesday, posting a two-day total of 622 to outlast Guilford College by seven shots.
High Point’s Curtis Brotherton claimed medalist honors after an even-par 72 in the final round.
Jonathan Miles paced Pfeiffer with a fourth-place individual finish after a final-round 75, three shots better than Monday’s opening 78. Chadd Marburger finished second on the team with a 158 (74/84). Michael Blair finished one shot behind Marburger (85/74). Cameron Fields (78/82) carded a two-day total of 160 wrapping up two shots better than teammate Luiz Jacintho (77/85).
Noah Ratner of Guilford led the Quakers to a second-place team finish firing a final-round 73. Overall, Ratner and Pfeiffer’s Tyson Louth finished tied for second individually with tournament totals of 152. Ratner carded a 79, 73 while Louth went 73, 79.
Brotherton fired the only even-par round of the tournament with his 72 on Tuesday to claim the event’s top spot. His teammate, Chase Wilson rounded out the individual top five with a 154 after posting a final round 76.
