PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 5 West Florida men’s golf team won its second consecutive tournament title and third of the season with a win at the Argonaut Invitational at Pensacola Country Club on Tuesday. The Argonauts had a solid showing through the entire lineup, carding 290 in Tuesday’s final round to clinch a three-stroke win.

UWF (286-298-290 - 874) finished 10-over-par, edging No. 9 Georgia College (298-287-292 - 877) by two strokes in the final round and three strokes overall. No. 25 USC Aiken (294-294-292 - 880) finished in third place.

Senior Otto Bonning (73-72-72 - 217) and junior Thomas Guste-Pedersen (71-72-74 - 217) led UWF for the tournament, as both players finished tied for sixth at 1-over-par 217. Sophomore Blake Olson carded 70 in Tuesday’s final round, moving him up to 10th place (72-77-70 - 219).

All five in the West Florida lineup finished in the top 25, as sophomore Robbie Van Riper and junior Carlos Rodriguez finished 19th and 25th, respectively. Van Riper finished 8-over-par (71-77-76 - 224) and Rodriguez was 9-over (72-79-74 - 225).

UWF also had three individuals competing, and junior Ryan Black finished 1-under-par and tied for third place overall. Black (70-70-75 - 215) was just three strokes behind medalist Jace Windom from North Alabama (75-70-68 - 213).

Sophomores Jordan Rizzo (76-70-77 - 223) and Rafael Rodriguez-Larreta (76-72-81 - 229) also competed as individuals, and they finished in 15th and 40th place, respectively.

Windom was the medalist, followed by Belmont Abbey’s Adam Hedges (71-70-73 - 214) in second place. Black was tied for third place along with Georgia College’s Billy Shida (75-74-66 - 215) and USC Aiken’s Hayden Letien (68-74-73 - 215).
