LAFAYETTE HILLS, Penn. – Wilmington University captured its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Golf Championship on Tuesday at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club  The Wildcats, led by medalist Andrew Baldo, unseated five-time defending champion, Post University, by seven strokes.

Wilmington secured the title by shooting a 300 during the first day of action and following with a 301 in round two despite battling high winds and two weather delays. Post shot a 304 on both days to finish in second place with a combined 608.

Baldo, a freshman, won the event with a two-round total of 145 (70, 75), edging three-time defending medalist, David McGregor of Post, by just one stroke. Baldo, McGregor, Wilmington’s Daniel Ott, Post’s Thomas Rees and Goldey-Beacom College’s Michael Coppa, Jr., were named to the All-Tournament team by finishing as the top five golfers in the championship.

Goldey-Beacom placed third (629), while Concordia College (643) and Nyack College (656) finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
