Queens wins Conf. Carolinas title
Royals lead wire-to-wire, hold off late charge from Coker for win
Queens beat Coker by 10 shots Tuesday to win the Conference Carolinas Men's Golf title.
The Royals led all three rounds and held off a late Coker charge to claim the title. The Royals C.J. DeBerg (+1) claimed individual honors after edging teammate Ryan Sevigny by three shots. Diego Polo of Coker and Thomas Buchanan of Lees-McRae were third. Buchanan fired the low round of the tournament with a final round 69. He opened with a 78 and posted a 75 yesterday.
Coker and Queens fired final round scores of 296 as the Royals finished with an 894, ten clear of the Cobras. Barton (910) was third and Pfeiffer (913) was fourth. Belmont Abbey (919), Mount Olive (931), Lees-McRae (932), Limestone (934), St. Andrews (934) and Erskine (973) rounded out the field.
