WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's golf team will head to Puerto Rico this weekend to compete in the ‎‎2009 Puerto Rico Classic. The tournament will be played on the Rio Mar Country ‎Club River Course, a par-72, 6902-yard venue.

The Boilermakers will host the 15 team field as they compete in the three-day ‎tournament on Feb. 27- March 1. The field is highlighted by four of the top five ‎teams in the nation according to Golfweek rankings. Georgia, ranked 2nd; Oklahoma, ‎ranked 3rd; Alabama ranked 4th; and Florida ranked 5th will all take part in the ‎tournament. All 15 teams participating are ranked inside Golfweek's top 70.

Traveling with Purdue will be Tyler Duncan, David Gersztein, Erich Johnston, ‎Maximo Kopp, Nakarintra Ratanakul, and William Sjaihcudin. Ratanakul and ‎Johnston led the team during the fall with 73.13 and 73.17 averages respectively.

Teams will tee off on Friday and Saturday at 8:00 and Sunday at 7:30. Live scoring ‎will not be available, but check www.PurdueSports.com for round by round results.
