Georgia College snags lead
Garrett's hole in one helps Bobcats take top spot
CONOVER, N.C. -- No. 21 Georgia College sits atop the leaderboard after Tuesday's 289 in the NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa Jones Course. The top five teams advance to the NCAA Finals in Louisville, Ky.
Junior Patrick Garrett shot a two-under 70 to draw even with teammate Taylor Smith in fourth at three-under par. Garret shot a 71 on Monday while Smith carded rounds of 69 and 72 on the par-72, 7,064-yard course.

Garrett recorded a hole in one in Tuesday's round, knocking it in from 170 yards on the ninth hole. It was one of four holes under par for Garrett. Smith balanced out two double bogeys with four birdies on the day. He finished strong, as he was three-under on the last five holes.
The Bobcats are four-over par, one stroke ahead of No. 27 Florida Tech. There's a three-way tie for third, as No. 2 Barry, No. 4 UNC Pembroke and No. 14 USC-Aiken are all at plus-eight, rounding out those all-important top five spots.
Sophomore Victor Monte cut seven strokes off Monday's 80 for his first counting round of the tourney, posting a birdie each on the front and back nines. He is 73rd after two rounds with a 153.
Freshman David Sullivan posted a 74 on Tuesday, going with Monday's 77. Sullivan stands at 60th with a 151, but showed promise on Tuesday, carding five birdies.
Freshman Ryan Trocchio followed Monday's 74 with a 75, good for 39th in the 108-man field. Trocchio had an up and down round with three birdies, two coming on the front nine.
The Bobcats lead one of the toughest tournaments they will play all year, featuring six teams in the top-10. GC last won the NCAA Regional in 2008.
