Tarleton State takes early lead
Lau’s 74 paces TexAnns after opening round
COMMERCE -- Tarleton State is in first place after the first day at the Texoma Chevy Dealers Intercollegiate.
The TexAnns shot a score of 312, which is six strokes ahead of West Texas A&M. Central Oklahoma, Arkansas-Fort Smith and Newman round out the top five.
Jacqueline Lau led the way with a 74, which was good enough for third place. Jessica Pickwick is tied for fourth (78), while Sharon Lau and Katy Ward (80) are tied at 10th. Sarah Fulfer had an 88 which put her in a tie for 50th.
The TexAnns will try to hold on to the top spot on Tuesday in the final round of competition. There are 22 teams competing on the par-72 course.
