Wash.-St. Louis sits in first place

PEORIA, Ariz. — No. 2 Washington-St. Louis shot a 295 and sits in first place after day one of the George Fox Spring Invitational held at Westbrook Village Golf Course.

Washington-St. Louis has a one shot lead over No. 7 ranked and host George Fox (296), while St. Mary’s (Ind.) is in third place with a opening round 331.

Freshman Olivia Lugar, the top-ranked player with a 74.00 average, was one of four Washington-St. Louis. golfers who shot an opening under 80. Lugar fired an opening round 71, while sophomore Andrea Hibbert (72), junior Hannah Buck (74) and freshman Taylor Fagan (78) all broke 80.

Also competing for the Bears as an individual was sophomore Allyson Chee (84) and seniors Katie Homa (90) and Sarah Miller (97).
