Hibbert fires 75 as Bears sit in fourth place after opening round

PERRY PARK, Ky. — Second-ranked Washington-St. Louis shot a 314 and sits in fourth place after day one of the Northern Kentucky Spring Invitational held at the Perry Park Golf Course.

No. 18 Indianapolis (Division II) leads the 20-team field with an opening round 300. Ashland (308), Findlay (310), the Bears (314) and third-ranked DePauw (316) rounds out the top five. Amy Thompson of Indianapolis leads the field with an opening round 71.

Sophomore Andrea Hibbert sits in a four-way tie for second place with a day one score of 75. Leila Marquet (Lewis), Brianna Scheidler (Indianapolis) and Holly James (Ashland) also fired opening round 75′s. Freshman Olivia Lugar is a stroke behind Hibbert and is in a seven-way tie for fifth place with a 76.

Junior Hannah Buck (78), senior Katie Homa (85) and sophomore Allyson Chee (88) also competed for the Bears. Buck enters day two just three shots out of second place.
