TUCSON, Ariz. -- With her third career win and first victory of the season, sophomore Manon Gidali paced No. 9 Arizona to its first win of the spring season and its third win in 2012-13 at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Wednesday. Hosted by Hawaii, the two-day, three-round event was held at Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course (par 72, 6,139 yards) in Kane'ohe, O'ahu.

With a 25-stroke lead on the field, Arizona won the team race with rounds of 289, 293 and 293 for a score of 875 (+11), the Cats' lowest three-round tournament showing this season. Ohio State finished second with a 900 (+36) and Gonzaga rounded out the top three with a 902 (+38).

"It was a great week for our team," head coach Laura Ianello said. "The team fought hard with Kendall [Prince] unable to tee it up [because of illness]. We have been working hard in practice and it's paying off. Manon [Gidali] had her third victory and it's good to see her confidence come back.

"Andrea [Vilarasau] and Patricia [Garcia] had amazing short games and their play helped us win. It was also Patricia's first time in the lineup and she finished third. She's a great addition. Janie [Jackson] struggled [Wednesday} but helped us big [on Tuesday]."

Gidali, ranked No. 37 by golfstat.com, won the individual medal with rounds of 71, 70 and 72, all at or below par. With a score of 213 (-3), she put together her best tournament of the season and the second-best three rounds of her career. Sophomore Patricia Garcia finished tied for third.
