FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- No. 1 Methodist won the second annual Methodist Spring Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

The Monarchs posted a second-round score of 309 to match Saturday's opening 309 for a total of 618. Piedmont was second at 664 (340-324) followed by SUNY Cortland (340-324-664), Randolph-Macon (356-353-709) and Hollins (363-358-721). The teams played Sunday's final round at nearby Kings Grant Golf Club after playing Saturday's round on Methodist's campus.

Methodist was led by Kelsie Carralero, who won individual medalist honors with a two-day total of 152 (77-75). Loretta Giovannettone was second behind Carralero (76-77-153) and Jenny Sullivan took third place (77-77-154).

Lizzy Blomgren tied for ninth at 164 (79-85) and Taylor Dominguez tied for 11th (85-80-165).

The Monarchs also had a host of individuals competing in the event. Nucharin Kantapasara (79-82), Andie Savel (84-77) and Andrea Daly (75-86) all tied for fourth at 161. Briana Sweeny tied for ninth (79-85--164) and Gabriella Gunawan (86-796--165) was tied for 11th.

Gina Battistone was alone in 18th place (84-85--169), Megan Webster tied for 22nd (85-88--173), Melissa Evanich tied for 24th (92-82--174), Kelsey Marshall was 27th (94-89--183), Meghan Bickford tied for 33rd (98-92--190) and Brandi Schroeder finished 37th (99-96--195).
