SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — No. 3 Washington (Mo.) outlasted No. 9 Illinois Wesleyan by eight strokes (317-325) in the I55 Dual on Tuesday at Panther Creek Country Club .

Washington had all five of its starters shoot 82 or lower, led by sophomore Olivia Lugar’s 18-hole score of 77 (+5). Lugar was third out of 12 golfers in the two-team field. Junior Andrea Hibbert was a stroke behind Lugar with a 78 (+4), good four fourth place. Hibbert birdied the 18th hole to shoot her third consecutive 78.

The Bears swept the next three positions as freshman Connie Zhou (80, +8) and seniors Hannah Buck (82, +10) and Melanie Walsh finished fifth and tied for sixth, respectively. Walsh hit an approach shot on the final hole six inches from the cup, which led to a birdie. Freshman Erin Lawrence competed as an individual and fired an 83 (+11), good for eighth place.
