Plattsburgh Heads Into Break In First

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - Dylan Clarke led the charge on Saturday for the No. 1-ranked Plattsburgh State men's hockey team, contributing a hat trick and an assist, as the Cardinals defeated Cortland 5-3 at Stafford Ice Arena. BOXSCORE
Plattsburgh remains unbeaten with a record of 9-0-2 overall, 7-0-1 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference. Cortland drops to 5-6-1 on the year, 3-4-1 in the SUNYAC.
The Red Dragons scored the first goal of the night in the first period at the 8:50 mark, but Clarke answered back for the Cardinals just 29 seconds later. Clarke then netted his second goal at 11:08 in the first off an assist from Eric Satim for a 2-1 lead.
Cortland tied the game back up, 2-2, with less than three minutes left to play in the period, but Riley Hill helped Plattsburgh pull ahead, 3-2, with 52 seconds left on
the clock. Phil Farrow and Joey Wilson assisted on the goal. Wilson recorded two assists on the night.
Jarrett Gold helped Cortland open up the second period just like they did the first and tied the game at three goals apiece. However the comeback did not last long, and Hill netted his second goal of the night with 2:03 left to play in the second period. Clarke scored his third goal just under two minutes into the third.
Chris Molinaro started in net for the first time during his senior season for Plattsburgh. He picked up the win and 21 saves. Dan Jewell racked up 33 saves for the Red Dragons.
